Infuse Your Body and Spirit With Joy

Here is a little experiment for you to try:

Hold your arms out to the sides, and feel as if they have been infused with sadness. Note if there are any changes as a result- do they feel heavier? Mushier? Stronger? Weaker?

Now feel as if your arms have been infused with joy. Note if there are any changes as a result of allowing them to be infused with joy - do they feel heavier? Lighter? Longer? Shorter? Weaker? Stronger?

Another experiment to try:

First “take stock of” and note whatever you note about certain specific areas -perhaps your lower back, your neck and shoulders, the length of your spine, your feet. Imagine you are walking down the street. The weather is your least favorite, and you have a number of unpleasant errands to run and tasks to get done.

You hear someone call you from someplace behind you.

It is a person that you find challenging to be around.

Take stock again of the areas you noted before – have they changed at all?

Now again imagine you are walking down the street. The weather is your favorite weather, and you have nothing that needs to be tended to for the rest of the day.

You hear someone call you from someplace behind you.

It is one of your favorite people.

Take stock again of the noted areas – have they changed at all?

Often, what we are thinking, or what is in the background field of our thoughts/mind, influences our posture, the functioning of our organs, the functioning or our cells.

Our thought patterns become habitual, and as they influence our posture, postural habits are created.

Like other types of habits, it can be challenging to change them and replace them with new, healthier habits.

The first step is to become aware of them.

A good way to begin is to practice the 2 experiments above.
