Happy First Full Week of January 2021.
Have you given any thought to what you would like for yourself this upcoming year? Or this upcoming month, or week?
Or even just.... for today?
Would you like to experience more joy in your life? Are there any new habits you would like to add into your life? Any habits you would rather not have in your life anymore? Would you like to respond to others more patiently and with more kindness? What about responding to yourself more patiently and with more kindness?
Taking 10 minutes 1 or 2 times a day (or more if you want!) to center yourself, think of a few things in your life you are grateful to be experiencing, and think positively about the rest of your day/week, can help reduce stress and tension in your body, and for many people, can lower levels of anxiety.
Taking 10 minutes 1 or 2 times a day to do some movement rather than sitting all day long can do the same.
Walking can as well- ideally, walking for 25 minutes or more at a time, but start where you are: if walking 5 minutes twice is day is a challenge for you, then that is where you start.
For most of us, our world is vastly different than it was 1 year ago.
For a number of us, not that much has changed in our immediate personal life as far as jobs, income, etc. – perhaps now working remotely from home instead of from the office (but still working, and still earning money) and perhaps having other family members home all the time as well, or “socializing” via Zoom instead of in-person.
For a number of us, there has been job loss, income loss, housing loss, loss of loved ones and family members.
As we move further into 2021, please treat yourself and those around you with patience and with kindness.
Each month is new; each week, each day, is new.
Each new day, each new moment, is a new opportunity filled with new potential.
